At Home Reverses the Price Increases from the Previous Year

At Home, a giant retailer of home furnishings, is turning around after enduring skyrocketing supply chain costs in 2021 and 2022.

After absorbing more than $300 million in increased costs over the previous two years, the company announced this morning that it is permanently lowering its price points on thousands of items, including rugs, décor, and furniture. The retail chain, which has 261 units, claimed it had discovered ways to reduce supply-chain costs overall and reduce freight costs.

“We made a promise to ourselves that we would reduce prices as quickly as we could. We can now, and we just have,” said CEO Lee Bird is the chairman.

At Home is promoting more than 200 rugs that are now being sold for under $100, more than 400 home accessories (like pillows and vases) that are now priced at under $20, and more than 200 pieces of furniture that have had their prices reduced by $100 or more. Additionally, it emphasizes discounts on pots, planters, lighting, and wall decor.

Chad Stauffer, president and chief merchandise and product officer of At Home, stated that inflation is still having an impact on the company’s clientele. “We continue to be dedicated to decor for everyone at a lower cost. We will keep assessing the market and our margins in order to find opportunities for our customers to save money.”

In order to publicize the price reductions, At Home is giving away $25,000 in gift cards to Insider Perks members who make purchases between March 22 and April 4.
